Green Khmelnytskyi: by Bike from the Botanical Garden to the Davydkivtsi Oak Woods

A nature cycling route through the green gems of Khmelnytskyi and its outskirts. Start at the Khmelnytskyi National University Botanical Garden in the south-west of the city, ride to Chekman Park on the Southern Bug and admire the Island of Love from the embankment. Through the centre and along Myru Avenue the route leads to the Podillia Arboretum, where cherry trees bloom in spring, and then to the protected Leznivetske Forest Tract with its hornbeam and elm woods and carpets of early flowers. The finale is the oak forests of the Davydkivtsi Reserve a few kilometres east of the city. Most of the route follows city streets with moderate traffic, so it suits cyclists with basic experience; bring water and a picnic.
