The Heart of Proskuriv: a Walk Through Historic Khmelnytskyi

A walking route through old Proskuriv, from the city's oldest church to the shady Ivan Franko Park. Start at the Regional Museum of Local Lore on Podilska Street and the 1837 Cathedral of the Nativity of the Theotokos, then walk down Soborna Street past the Starytsky Theatre to Independence Square, the equestrian monument to Bohdan Khmelnytskyi and the Philharmonic. From the Intercession Cathedral head along Volodymyrska Street to the Literary Museum, stop for coffee and cake at the Potocki Patisserie, then continue through Shevchenko Square, the City History Museum and pedestrian Proskurivska with the Art Museum and the Dyven Puppet Theatre. Have lunch at Shpigel Restoration in an early 20th-century mansion, and finish at the former Continental Hotel (Photo Art Museum), the Eternal Flame memorial and Ivan Franko Park.
