Про локацію
The equestrian monument to Bohdan Khmelnytskyi is the largest of the four monuments to the hetman in the city that bears his name. The bronze sculpture was erected in 1993 at the corner of Kamianetska Street and former Haharina Street (now Heroiv Mariupolia) next to the regional philharmonic; its authors are sculptor V. Borysenko and architect M. Kopyl. The hetman is shown as a true statesman astride a spirited horse, his mace raised high in his right hand while his left holds the reins. The sculpture stands on a wide trapezoidal pedestal faced with pink slabs. The monument has become one of Khmelnytskyi's symbols and a popular meeting and photo spot, with Philharmonic Square right beside it.
