Про локацію
The Eternal Flame memorial complex in Pionerskyi Square on Proskurivska Street is the main Second World War memorial site in Khmelnytskyi. The square itself was planted by schoolchildren back in 1925 at the corner of what were then 25 Zhovtnia and Novobulvarna streets (today Proskurivska and Ivana Franka). After Proskuriv was liberated on 25 March 1944, fallen soldiers began to be buried here, mostly airmen, among them Lev Shestakov and Valentyn Yolkin, who died in the skies over the city. Later the remains of other liberators were moved here and a memorial with an eternal flame was created. A viburnum grove was planted in the square to mark the 70th anniversary of Ukraine's liberation.
