Maidan Nezalezhnosti, Khmelnytskyi Copy
Інформація
Про локацію
Independence Square is the central square of Khmelnytskyi. It took shape in the mid-1950s when the House of Soviets was built, was called Lenin Square from 1967, and in 1991 received its current name in honour of the proclamation of Ukraine's independence. The Lenin monument erected here in 1970 was removed back in 1992. In autumn 2013 Khmelnytskyi's Euromaidan gathered here, and today the square hosts the main city holidays, concerts, fairs and ceremonies. It is a convenient starting point for exploring the city: the Starytsky Theatre, the regional philharmonic and pedestrian Proskurivska Street are all nearby.
