The Museum of Khmelnytskyi City History was founded by the city council in 1996 and opened on City Day in September of that year in the former Prombudbank building at 30 Proskurivska. Its halls lead visitors from the founding of Ploskyriv through the Polish-Lithuanian era, the Russian Empire and the Soviet period to the present day, with separate sections on the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917–1921, the Revolution of Dignity and the Russian-Ukrainian war. The main collection numbers more than 9,000 items. The brightest hall hosts changing art and photo exhibitions, and guided tours are offered in Ukrainian, English and Polish.
