Podillia Arboretum

The Podillia Arboretum is a 30.5-hectare green area in the north-eastern part of Khmelnytskyi, at the junction of Myru Avenue and Starokostiantynivske Highway. It was laid out in 1964 and is now a protected local landmark of landscape art, part of the region's nature reserve fund. Trees and shrubs brought from botanical gardens of Ukraine and Moldova grow here, and in April the Japanese cherries are especially beautiful. The entrance is marked by a monumental memorial to Second World War soldiers, and deeper inside is the Alley of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred with more than a hundred spruces. It is a favourite place for quiet walks and picnics.
