Above the Zbruch: Shrines, a Palace and Villages of the Volochysk Area

A day-long car trip along the Zbruch south of Volochysk. Start at the Holy Trinity church, stop at the masonry church of Saints Peter and Paul in Kopachivka and the memorial to the burned village in Kanivka. The highlight is Tarnoruda: a walk in the Zbruch valley, the old Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Holy Scapular and the castle-like Mordvinov Palace. Then visit the old forest of the Zaichyky reserve, and on the way back see the wooden churches of Solomna and Ripna. Some roads between villages are unpaved or rough, so allow extra time.
