Zbruch Valley near Tarnoruda

Near Tarnoruda the Zbruch flows through a picturesque valley framed by hills and limestone cliffs, outliers of the Medobory toltry ridge. Above the village on the left bank rise Satanivska Hora (Mora) and the Vapniarky hills with rock outcrops, springs flow in the woods, and upstream the dam of the old Tarnoruda hydroelectric plant forms a reservoir locals call the 'Tarnoruda Sea'. The Zbruch was once an imperial border here, and buildings of former border posts and customs houses still stand on both banks. The valley is great for walks, picnics and photography and combines well with a visit to the sanctuary and the Mordvinov Palace.
