Bike Ride: From the Quarry to the Zhovta River

This cycling route shows two sides of Zhovti Vody: its mining history and the nature of the valley that gave the city its name. Start at the Palace of Culture. From there, ride along Svobody Boulevard to the history museum, where the hall on the iron-ore mines is worth a look. The route then leads to the GAZ-AA monument by the motor depot and to the rim of the Veselo-Ivanivskyi quarry with its multicoloured walls and mine headframes. It ends on the bank of the Zhovta River among reeds and meadows, where swans can be seen. Keep well away from the cliff edges at the quarry.
