A memorial complex in the centre of Samar built on the site of a mass grave of soldiers and partisans who fell in the Civil War and the Second World War. The composition consists of a long curved wall with inscriptions, a sculpted relief of a grieving woman's face and the bowl of the Eternal Flame; the monument's authors were F. L. Bandura and V. I. Shchepets. The memorial is a local historical monument. In the same square stand a monument to the partisans of the Samara region, a memorial to the victims of the Chornobyl disaster and the sculpture "Grieving Mother", so the site has become the town's main place of remembrance, where people gather on days of commemoration. It is quiet and peaceful here, and the well-kept paths with flower beds invite a calm walk.
