Dunaivtsi Museum of History and Local Lore

The museum of history and local lore in central Dunaivtsi, just below the square locals have long called 'Rizhok', occupies a mid-to-late 19th-century house that once belonged to a German shoemaker named Streze. Founded on 6 November 1986, it now holds more than 4,000 items in its main collection. The exhibition fills several halls: regional archaeology from the Palaeolithic to the Middle Ages with a collection of Trypillia finds, an ethnographic room recreating a 19th-century Podillia peasant house, local crafts and trades, the history of the town and its cloth mill, 20th-century events, a memorial hall for the defenders killed in the Russian-Ukrainian war, and finds from the 2020 excavations of the Chankiv-1 settlement. Since 2023 the museum has also run an art space hosting exhibitions and workshops.
