Про локацію
The Hasidic Synagogue, also called the New Synagogue, was built in 1905-1909 to a design by the Viennese architect Hans Hildkremer, with Moorish motifs and modelled on the Sadhora synagogue. After completion it became the residence of Chortkiv's chief rabbi. The square building with two towers ending in slender spires once had lavish stone carving and paintings by Italian masters. The Hasidic community in the town was founded in 1860 by tzaddik David Moshe Friedman. Damaged in the war years and later rebuilt, the building is a local architectural monument and today houses a children's creativity centre. Its Moorish silhouette makes it a rewarding photo subject.
