Chornyi Lis Forest Reserve

A 193-hectare forest reserve of local significance between the villages of Antonivka and Holozubyntsi, in the Studenytsia river basin. It was protected in 1990 to preserve a stand of oak and hornbeam mixed with birch, pine, ash and spruce; in places black alder, poplar, willow and small-leaved lime grow as well. Spring is the best time to come: in April the forest floor turns into a carpet of ephemeral flowers — wood and yellow anemones, corydalis, toothworts and yellow and least gagea. The reserve is managed by the Dunaivtsi forestry unit. It is a good place for quiet walks and nature watching right next to Dunaivtsi; just remember that lighting fires and picking plants are prohibited in the protected area.
