Про локацію
A memorial at the site of one of the most tragic events in the region's history, by the Dunaivtsi — Mynkivtsi road about 500 metres south of the bridge near Demiankivtsi. In April 1942, during the Nazi occupation, more than two thousand Jewish people were driven into a phosphorite mine and killed alive when it was blown up. Eyewitnesses testified that moans and cries could be heard from underground for several days. The mass grave was marked with a memorial sign in 1967, and a memorial was later built at the site of the tragedy. It is part of the community's 'Stonemasonry of the Dunaivtsi Land' tourist route and is listed as a historical monument. Please remember that this is a place of mourning, where silence and respect are appropriate.
