Holy Places of Samar

A one-day pilgrimage and sightseeing trip from Dnipro by the Ryba Andrii tourist centre, devoted to the sacred sites of the Samara region. The main stop is the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Samar, a nine-domed wooden church of the Cossack era built by master Yakym Pohribniak without a single nail, with a separate bell tower. The group then travels to the Samara Desert St Nicholas Monastery, linked to the history of the Zaporozhian Cossacks, has lunch at a café, and finishes with a visit to the modern Holy Protection Church in the village of Orlovshchyna. Departure at 9:00 from the circus ticket office on Sicheslavska Embankment, return at about 17:00. The price includes transfer, the guided programme, a set lunch, group escort and insurance.
