Former Church of Our Lady of Sorrows (Bychkivtsi)

The former Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of Sorrows in Bychkivtsi village is a picturesque late 19th-century ruin. The cornerstone was blessed on 21 October 1896, the church was consecrated the following year, and in 1898 three bells donated by local benefactors were blessed. The parish was founded in 1925. In Soviet times the church was closed and used as a collective-farm grain store, and today it stands in ruins. Such a romantic monument attracts seekers of atmospheric places and photographers, and in the old park by the village church grows a protected Weymouth pine.
