The Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk in Perekhody village is one of the most original in Ukraine. Villagers built it in 2002-2003 with help from Dominican friars, using a large metal tank that had once served as housing for workers. In October 2003 Bishop Marian Buczek blessed the bell installed next to it. The parish numbers about thirty people. The unusual tank chapel has become a curiosity for travellers and is nicknamed the church in a tank. It is an ideal stop for those who like offbeat places and stories of community ingenuity.
