Underground Monastery "Gethsemane Garden" (Paradise Garden)

A unique cave complex near the village of Kazbeky, founded in 1912 by followers of the preacher Inokentii Baltskyi. According to descriptions, underground corridors lead to dozens of cells (89 are mentioned), several churches and halls, while above ground there were an orchard, chapels, a cemetery and a 52-metre well. Experts call it one of the largest underground religious structures in Europe. Because of decay and dampness the tunnels are dangerous, so the underground part should only be seen with local guides. On the surface you can see a chapel and the church of Inokentii's followers, and the scenic gully around is good for walking and photography.
