Samara River in the city

The Samara is the largest tributary of the Dnipro in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, and the city that has carried its name since 2024 lies mostly on its right bank. Within the city the river flows as a wide, calm reach. Oak groves of the Samara area rise above the water on the left bank, while willows, poplars and reeds line the city shore. From here you can see how the river meanders and forms side channels, oxbows and islands. The easiest way to reach the water is from the embankment near Suchkov Park and the Humpback Bridge, or from the city beaches. In summer people swim, fish and go boating here, and rowers train on the water. In spring the water rises and floods the riverside meadows. In autumn the forest on the opposite bank turns gold, and in calm weather it is reflected in the water.
