Monastery Pines

A local botanical natural monument in Chortkiv protecting a group of 13 black pines about a hundred years old. The trees, 42 to 69 cm in diameter, grow on the grounds of the Discalced Carmelite monastery on Monastyrska Street and are valuable exotics for the region. The status was granted by the Ternopil Oblast Council in 2010, with a total area of 0.4 ha. It is a quiet green corner within the urban fabric: century-old conifers create a calm atmosphere and welcome shade in summer heat, and the scent of pine makes a walk more pleasant.
