Korff Manor in Rakhnivka

The manor house of the Barons Korff in the centre of Rakhnivka is an example of a modest early 20th-century country residence. Major General Alexander Korff received the estate in 1888, and in 1910 the family built a new house — a long single-storey building with minimal decoration; the lady of the house at the time was Elisabeth-Sophie Korff. The Korffs were known as patrons and built schools in Rakhnivka and Pilnyi Mukariv at their own expense. A few ancient oaks near the village football pitch are all that remains of the manor park, and a monument to Taras Shevchenko stands next to the house. Since Soviet times the former manor has housed the village school, so it is best viewed from outside. Rakhnivka is the starting point of the community's tourist route to Kryvchyk, past the forest reserve to the Krupensky Palace and Hrabyna hill.
