Volochysk dance ensembles perform at The Soul Sings festival in Greece
The Suziria children's dance group and the Nadzbruchanka folk dance ensemble represented the Volochysk community at a Greek-Ukrainian festival in Patras.
In summer 2026, two dance groups from the Volochysk community travelled to Greece to perform. They took part in the Greek-Ukrainian festival The Soul Sings 2026 (Dusha spivaie), held in the port city of Patras.
The community was represented by the Suziria children's dance group of the Volochysk children's art school, which holds the honorary title of model collective, and by the Nadzbruchanka amateur folk dance ensemble of the Harmoniia Mykola Chepeliuk Centre of Culture and Leisure. The ensemble's name refers to the Zbruch river, on which Volochysk stands.
The performers presented lively Ukrainian dances to the Greek audience, and every number was warmly applauded. For the participants, the trip was not only a chance to perform but also an opportunity to show foreign audiences the richness of Ukrainian culture and the traditions of Podillia.
The community thanked the groups' directors, Olha Panasiuk and Mariana Pavenska, for training the young dancers and for their contribution to the cultural life of the Volochysk area. Both groups perform regularly at local celebrations, so visitors to Volochysk may also have a chance to see them.
